The Sonoran Desert
The Sonoran Desert is located mainly in Arizona, also stretching into California and Mexico. It is very hot, dry, and sandy. The Sonoran Desert is the wettest desert in North America and has two very rainy seasons. Low shrubs and cacti are common.
The Sonoran Desert was also home to the Navajo Indian Tribe, a group of people who lived in the valleys and plains of the southwest desert. They survived by planting their food and hunting animals to make food and clothing. |
